THE ULTIMATE PENGUIN GUIDEIntroduction:To parents that considered letting their kids join Club Penguin, you may havebeen reluctant to do so. What is Club Penguin anyway?Club Penguin is a virtual world where members create avatars of Penguins andinteract with others penguins.During the signup process parents are asked to include their own password andemail as well, thus giving them control should they feel the need. At this time youcan chose an appropriate age level for your child to join. Additionally, you canselect what type of chatting capabilities you want your child to have: Standard orUltimate.“Ultimate” offers you the ability to select from “pre-made” questions andresponses; “standard” is the setting that lets you type in whatever you want toother penguins.Once your account is created, you begin in the middle of a snowy town alongwith a lot of other penguins. Nearby is a gift shop, coffee shop, and a nightclubthat you can visit.When you are ready to go to another place, there is a Map icon on the bottom ofyour screen that you can use to navigate around the game world. Some of theplaces allow you to play games, some by yourself and some games with otherswhich allow you to earn coins that you can then use to buy things for yourpenguin, such as pets called Puffles.You can also become someone’s buddy if invited, or invite others to be yours.Becoming a buddy with someone means you can send them a letter. You do thisby using the built-in service (communicating outside Club Penguin is notpossible). Just open your player card, take off everything andput on an item that makes you dance. If your player card is still open, youwill be dancing with your other clothes on.7
